Local

Adelaide Hearing Consultants is owned and operated by two senior Audiologists, Mr David May and Dr Judith Boswell. Judith helped establish the first Audiology course in South Australia (the Master in Audiology at Flinders University) and David was one of the first group of students to complete the course.

We support local causes: Bridge Clinic (Murray Bridge) annual charity cricket match, Seacliff Primary School, Rotary and Lions Club entertainment for disabled children and ITShare (refurbishing computers for community groups). We also support National and International causes close to our hearts: the Deafness Foundation (through our sale of butterfly pins), the Menzies School of Health Research Indigenous Ear Health and Education Unit, Darwin (2010 AHC website launch), The Leukaemia Foundation ‘Shave for a Cure’ (2009 Glenelg North AHC open-house), donations of hearing aids to KwaZulu-Natal (Africa).

Independent

Adelaide Hearing Consultants is not allied with any manufacturer, therefore we are not under any obligation to fit a particular brand of hearing instruments. Our clinicians do not receive any personal bonuses or commission for selling products; this includes ‘top-up’ instruments to Office of Hearing Services clients. Our clinicians do not accept  inducements from manufacturers which could influence their choice of instruments.

Professional Staff

We support the development of our profession. All of our Audiologists are members or fellows of Audiological Society of Australia and David and Judith are both active in the South Australian branch of the Society. Our clinical staff undertake regular Continuing Professional Development so that we are up-to-date and well-informed. Judith is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Flinders University and she and David give occasional lectures to Master in Audiology students and the students visit our offices for regular clinical observation and training with our staff.
